Hallowed Hills Roleplay Rules

These rules exist to protect fair roleplay, server balance, and immersion. Follow both the written rule and the intended meaning behind it.

Staff enforce based on intent, realism, and fairness - not loopholes, technicalities, or semantic games.
Read This First
Common sense applies at all times.
Not every bad action needs its own line in the rules. If it breaks realism, fairness, or immersion, expect staff to act.
Fast Summary
No loopholes. No metagaming. No baiting. No RDM/VDM. Value your life. Respect initiation. Stay in character.
Enforcement
Trying to "rule-lawyer" the system is still breaking the rules.
That move is not clever. It is just speedrunning punishment.

Community Rules

The baseline rules for behavior, communication, and respect.

1.1

Use Common Sense

Act realistically and logically at all times. "It wasn't specifically listed" is not a defense.

1.2

Follow Rule Intent

Rules are enforced by meaning and fairness, not by trying to squeeze through wording gaps.

1.3

Respect All Players

No harassment, discrimination, hate speech, or targeted toxicity in IC or OOC spaces.

1.4

Language Requirement

English must be used in in-game communication unless staff explicitly allow otherwise.

1.5

No Drama / OOC Conflict

Do not bring out-of-character grudges into the server. Use support channels and staff instead.

1.6

No ERP or Sexual Content

Explicit sexual roleplay, sexual violence roleplay, and erotic content are not allowed.

1.7

No Advertising

No promoting other servers, communities, or outside services in public or private.

1.8

No Real-World Trading

Buying, selling, or trading in-game items for real money or outside compensation is forbidden.

1.9

Staff Authority

Staff decisions are final. Appeals follow the proper process and do not pause enforcement.

New Life & Death Rules

Death resets the immediate situation and prevents revenge-driven re-entry.

2.1

New Life Rule (NLR)

After death, you forget the immediate events, identities, and location tied to that situation. Do not return for 15 minutes unless staff allow it.

2.2

Revenge Killing

Returning to attack the people involved in your death is prohibited, no matter how you try to justify it.

2.3

Vehicle Theft After Death

Property issues tied to your death stay with that scene. You cannot re-enter as if nothing happened.

Gameplay Integrity Rules

Fair play matters more than winning by cheese.

3.1

No Exploits or Cheats

No bugs, glitches, external tools, macros, scripts, or unintended mechanics used for advantage.

3.2

No Metagaming

Only act on information your character gained in roleplay, not from Discord, streams, or other outside sources.

3.3

Safe Zones

Safe zones are non-hostile. No violence, intimidation, or cheesy line-crossing bait from their edges.

3.4

No Gear Abuse

Restricted, faction, or donator gear must stay within its intended role and may not be abused or transferred.

3.5

No Baiting

Do not intentionally provoke others into rule breaks, combat, or situations created just for your gain.

3.6

No Powergaming

Do not force impossible outcomes or strip other players of fair responses and agency.

3.7

Evidence Recording Requirement

Record active gameplay during RP situations. Reports without evidence may be rejected at staff discretion.

Roleplay Conduct Rules

Stay immersed and do not use disconnects or storage to dodge consequences.

4.1

Stay In Character

Remain in character unless you are in an approved OOC context.

4.2

Realistic Identity

Character names, behavior, and background should be believable and not trollish or immersion-breaking.

4.3

No Combat Logging

Do not disconnect or leave to avoid the outcome of an active roleplay situation.

4.4

No Combat Storing

Do not stash items, cars, or assets to dodge loss during active or unresolved RP.

4.5

No Rule Referencing in RP

Do not talk about rules, punishments, or staff action during RP. It is immersion-breaking FailRP.

4.6

No Cop Baiting

Do not intentionally trigger law enforcement responses without real RP reasoning behind it.

Initiation Rules

One of the most important systems on the server. Do it right or do not do it at all.

Valid initiation must include three things: a threat, a demand, and a consequence.
Threat

A visible or clearly implied capability to cause harm.

Demand

A direct instruction or command the target understands.

Consequence

A clear result if the demand is ignored or resisted.

5.1

Valid Initiation Requirements

All three elements must be present, understandable, and realistic or the initiation is invalid.

5.2

Compliance Window

Targets must get a reasonable chance to react, with a minimum of 8 seconds unless escalation changes the situation.

5.3

Direct Initiation Requirement

Initiation must happen in person through clear voice or in-game communication unless staff explicitly allow otherwise.

5.4

Audible Clarity

The initiator is responsible for making sure the demand is clearly heard and understood.

5.5

Initiation Exceptions

Immediate defense is allowed when you or an ally are restrained, your vehicle is being taken, you are attacked, or a hostile act is clearly underway.

5.6

Initiation Duration

Initiation remains active for 15 minutes or until parties fully disengage and separate.

5.7

Clothing / Identity Changes

Switching disguises or identity mid-situation can break continuity and reset or invalidate initiation.

Combat Rules

Violence must have justified, escalated RP behind it.

6.1

Random Deathmatch (RDM)

Killing or using violence without valid roleplay escalation is prohibited.

6.2

Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM)

Vehicles are not weapons unless realistically justified in immediate self-defense.

6.3

Third Party Engagement

Uninvolved players may not jump into ongoing conflicts or exploit them.

6.4

Kill on Sight (KOS)

KOS is only legal in designated areas or scenarios. Everywhere else, initiation rules apply.

Value of Life (NVL)

Your character should behave like they actually want to keep breathing.

7.1

Mandatory Life Preservation

Do not act with unrealistic bravery, suicidal behavior, or total disregard for lethal threats.

7.2

Examples of NVL Failure

Examples include solo pushing multiple armed opponents, ignoring guns at close range, or taking absurd physical risks without justification.

7.3

Compliance Expectation

When you are outmatched, realistic compliance or believable escape attempts are expected.

Crime & Hostage Rules

Criminal RP needs motive, balance, and believable treatment of other players.

8.1

Valid Robbery Reasoning

Crime must have a clear RP motive unless it is part of a defined illegal system.

8.2

Hostage Treatment

Hostages are negotiation assets, not disposable props. Treat them realistically.

8.3

Forced Financial Actions

You may not force players to withdraw money, sell assets, or transfer ownership under coercion.

8.4

Group Limitations

Large-scale crime is limited to prevent steamrolling and preserve fair engagement.

Medical Rules

Medical roleplay stays neutral and follows scene safety.

9.1

Medic Neutrality

Medical staff must remain neutral and may not become combat participants.

9.2

Post-Revive RP

Roleplay injuries seriously after revival and follow medical instruction realistically.

9.3

No Combat Reviving

No revives while combat is active. The scene must be fully safe first.

Law Enforcement Rules

Police RP should protect balance, negotiation, and scene realism.

10.1

EMS Requirement

Officers should request EMS whenever possible instead of treating revives like a shortcut button.

10.2

Hostage Protocol

Hostages must be handled as valuable roleplay assets and may not be ignored.

10.3

Negotiation Cooldown

After negotiations end, allow a minimum 8-second cooldown before lethal action resumes unless a hostage is killed.

10.4

Abuse Prevention

Police powers may not be abused, misused, or stretched beyond their intended purpose.

Vehicle Rules

Drive like your character has bones and a survival instinct.

11.1

Realistic Driving

Vehicle use must reflect believable handling and risk. No impossible stunt nonsense during normal RP.

11.2

Vehicle Combat Restrictions

Vehicles may only be used offensively in realistic self-defense scenarios.

Major Crime Rules

Big scenes need structure so they stay fun instead of becoming a clown pileup.

12.1

Definition

Major crimes include bank robberies, hostage situations, and other organized high-risk operations.

12.2

Balance Rule

Police and criminal numbers must stay balanced for fair engagement.

12.3

Participation Restriction

Only directly involved parties may participate in or affect a major crime situation.

12.4

Restart Protection

Major crimes may not begin within 30 minutes of a server restart.

Final Enforcement Principles

The catch-all section for bad-faith behavior and fake-authority nonsense.

13.1

Anti-Trolling Clause

Anything intended to break immersion or provoke non-RP reactions is punishable.

13.2

Anti-Impersonation

Impersonating staff or abusing the appearance of authority is strictly prohibited.

13.3

Rule Abuse Clause

Trying to exploit gaps, wording, or technicalities is judged as a violation based on intent.
